Site No. 19 - Piedmont NWR
"Due to large renovation/construction projects at the Refuge visitor center and Allison Lake these areas will be closed to the public starting April 26, 2010. The visitor center is expected to reopen by November 1, 2010. The Allison Lake access road, Allison Lake trail, and the Creek and Pine trails will be closed to all public access during this time. Alternate hiking locations are located near the Children's Pond on the Little Rock Wildlife Drive. The Red-cockaded Trail can be accessed from the gravel road in compartment 14 across from the wildlife drive." Please refer to the Piedmont NWR web site for the latest information: Revision Date:
